Suggest Treatment For High BP

Hello doctor.my mom bp was constant 160/90 for the past week.the doctor told that the bp tablet was not working.so he prescribed another tablet .so my mom is taking eritel h in morning and eritel 80 in evening .after she took for two days she is feeling very weak and she is getting cold sweating.before she was taking replace 50 once a day and her age is 54.please can u suggest me .

Hi welcome to HCM
Your mom could be suffering from drug induced hypotension,hence the symptoms.Monitor her BP regularly,if its low home therapy like 3-4litres of water,plenty of fruit juices,buttermilk etc is preferable.If BP is less than 90/60mmhg,take her to emergency room for IV fluid supplementation.Get ECG and 2D echo as a part of screeing for any heart disease.Speak to your doctor regarding decrease in dosage of drug as these medications shouldnt be escalated suddenly.Report to doctor immediately if symptoms doesnt subside after home therapy.Consult your cardiologist for expert management.
