Suggest Treatment For High Blood Glucose Levels Despite Medication

I have type 2 diabetes and have recently been diagnosed with two benign cists and one that they are watching. Needless to say my diabetes is not accepting this very well and sugar levels are rising enough that it is either take Victoza or insulin. I know that Victoza has been associated with pancreatic cancer in animals - how serious should I take this threat? My tentative diagnosis after many tests is IPMM.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The risk of pancreatic cancer is probably negligible, but there is a risk of pancreatitis. It seems that glycemic control in your case is very important and difficult to treat, so Victoza could be a good treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen,
General Surgeon
