Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure And Headache Post Lumbar Spine Surgery
I m 51 years of age and in decent shape. I had a very bad auto accident in Sept of last year and had a lower lumbar surgery along with a spinal fusion. I was in hospital and rehab facility for about 8 weeks and continuing with Therapy as an outpatient with slow progress. I have been seeing a neurologist and am seeking a cardiologist and my primary Dr. I have never had high blood pressure prior to my accident and every morning I wake up with a bad headache and my legs going numb. I m just wondering if there is anything you might be alb to tell me as I wait to see my physicians of what might be going on.
Headache can be of various reasons as: - High BP - Recent medications to control BP - Stress - Improper or inadequate sleep - Post effect of spinal anesthesia (if given for the surgery)
The high blood pressure therapy includes: - Basic medications as thiazide diuretic, ACE inhibitor or others depending upon the clinician decision - Salt restricted diet - Regular walking, exercises - Meditations, YOGA
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
