Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure And Severe Anemia

I am 36 year old female. I have a history of high blood pressue and severe anemia due to very heavy menstrual cycles .I have received iron infusions as of recently but when I would finallly get a good enough hemoglobin my cycles will come back heavy and cause my hemoglobin to drop and I didn t have a lot of time in my schedule to go back consistently for the Iron Infusion. I have recently experienced some cases of dizziness and today I walked up several flights of steps and noticed a slight pinch like pain in my chest that lasted a few seconds and went away . what could this be from?

Hello,

A pinch pain in the chest very likely is muscular especially if it was in a very small area. If the pain repeats and is related to exercise (worse on exercise and better when you stop) then the heart can be considered.

As for the severe anemia you will need a visit with the gynecologist to find out the cause of the heavy menstruation, sometimes it is a blood condition that causes it like von willebrand factor related or it might be a fibromyoma or hormonal causes which all have specific treatment and quite successful to stop the bleeding.

High blood pressure seems to not be related to these, if you have blood pressure over 140/90 mmHg for more then 3 months and you have tried conservative treatment like weight loss, exercise, healthy diet, no smoking, no alcohol use, etc, and the blood pressure is still high then you will need to have medications for it and discussing this with your doctor is important because some tests might be needed and also a good regular follow up.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
