Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am detoxing from long term use of Vicodin. I ve gotten through the runny nose, but now my blood pressure has spiked today. I am taking Lisinopril oral, 40mg, one-half tab 2 times a day. However, while on the Vicodin my blood pressure would get very low so I stopped taking the Lisinopril and my BP stayed relatively safe and level. I ve had 2 Lisinopril tabs today since 8 am and my blood pressure is still 168/104. Should I take any more, drink more water or what should I do? Thanks
Hi thanks for using Healthcaremagic Please don't take more Blood pressure tablets...It can cause unwanted results. The high blood pressure is due to stopping the treatment. It will take some time for the blood pressure to become normal. It is not advisable to Lowe the BP suddenly.Usually we reduce the BP slowly.Hence consult your doctor and restart the treatment. He will titrate the dose of the tablet for you... Thank you...
