Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure

Post surgery to remove a 3 inch by 3 inch area of basal cell cancer on my chest that ended up taking 4 hours and 18 stitches. I m a 68 year old man pretty healthy having high blood pressure but under control with meds. I work out 6 2 214lbs. When I went into surgery my bp was high 154/88 my normal is 124/54.. And when I came out it was extremely high 195/ 88. My concern is I have chills I m freezing... 14 hours later. I m having to uranate every hour two at the most. And at times Its painful to do so all the way from the front of my stomach/ bladder area to my back/ kidney area. I m not running fever though. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Thank you Mike

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the chills without fever can be in relation with temperature variant, IV fluids or else. Difficulty in passing urine is possible ( if no catheter is inserted per urethra ) after surgery due to surgical site pain pulling the abdomen muscles.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
