Suggest Treatment For High Blood Sugar Level

I went to the Dr today, i wasn't feeling fine, I'm sluggish, I'm drinking tons of water. I am diabetic. My bloog sugar level was 540, the nurse gave me an insulin shot, they had me wait about half an hour, they took it again and now its 590, should I be concerned. Should the Dr have done more

your sugar level is high or uncontrolled sugar level. This level of glucose shows that you are taking medicine not properly and unsupervised.
Good Diabetic control/ good B.P. control and life style modifications always helps on to prevent diabetic complications .
But your blood sugar Level is HIGH
High blood sugar medically known as HYPERGLYCEMIA . POLYPHAGIA( HUNGER), POLYDIPSIA (THRUST) POLYURIA IS COMMONLY symptom in hyperglycemia and require admission in Hospital. Because hyperglycemia leeds to DIABETIC KETOACIDOSIS (DKA ) and Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HSS) . DKA or HSS is medical emergency and without treatment it can lead to death

some investigations require to rule out DIABETIC KETOACIDOSIS / HSS and medical management of Hyperglycemia / DKA which is possible under supervision of Doctor.
Investigations required
ABG atrial blood gas analysis
Serum Keton bodies
urinary keton bodies
Serum Electrolytes
ECG
so my advice is to contact your Endocrinologist / treating physician immediate
