Hi,

Hypertriglyceridemia (high blood triglycerides) can be due to un uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles.

It is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart disease and stroke. It can also cause acute pancreatitis and fatty liver disease.

To reduce these risks I suggest you to take fibrates, niacin, and fish oil (alone or in various combinations) which are effective in lowering the triglycerides.

I also recommend certain lifestyle changes such as healthy diet, regular exercise, and avoidance of smoking/alcohol if you are into.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
