Suggest Treatment For High Cholesterol Level After Hysterectomy

HI, i had a hysterectomy 1/3/07 and ever since my cholesterol levels are high. I have been on a no fat / low fat diet since i was 14 years old, i drink water , eat salads and primary eat fish and chicken. I am not over weight . My primary care doctor would like to put me on medication for this , however i will not allow that at this time. Reason being i have been researching on line and have read some articles that state one can have a false high cholesterol ready after a hysterectomy . My question to you at this time is , have you ever heard of a false reading after a hysterectomy ? Also what could i do to help myself lower my levels more? I am currently repeating the test every 6 months and the levels are coming down , however i feel like everything am doing to improve the numbers will hurt me in the long run. I am 43 years old , i weigh 120 LBS. and losing
