Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Flu

My husband has been ill since Wednesday. He s been spiking a fever of about 100 brought down by Tylenol since then. He has not improved. He went to an urgent care on Friday and tested neg for Lyme. They also showed his white count as ok. They sent his urine out. Results will be back tomorrow. They did not test for the flu. My thoughts are that this is likely the flu. Thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Wait for the results to come and take physicians' suggestions. This is Flu season. Flu does not need any medicine like an antibiotic.

If it is flu, he will need supportive care according to his symptoms and paracetamol for his fever. If it is a urine infection, then he will need to start taking antibiotics based on the urine culture reports. Wait on his urine reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Jasmine Jagan, General & Family Physician
