Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Lower Back Pain
My husband had 3 polyps removed about 2 months ago. Also had a femural artery bypass only about 2 weeks later. He has been fighting a high fever for 3 nights, spiking to 103.3. Has been to doctor and first diagnosis is urinary tract infection but said also that she is not satisfied that his symptoms are in line with just that. He just started lower back pain today. He is on Cipro unti furter testing of urine comes back, and when fever starts climbing, mostly in evening, we alternate Ibuprophen 400mg and Tylenol 325mg, for that. Through the day for now he does not need that amount as fever comes down. His white blood count was quite high. Should we be concerned that the colon may be causing this onset of symptoms? Thank you
First of all it's sad to know what your father had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, a CT abdomen pelvis and chest are needed to look into the cause. Stool analysis, CEA levels may be needed. Sepsis profile should be sent.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
