Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is 27 years old , feeling bad since tuesday afternoon. Fever that stays, up to 102, chills, fever with ibprofen and excedrin will drop to 99.5. Went to urgent care yesterday, fast strep test came back negative no word on long strep test. Bad sore throat gave her a prescription for a throat gargle
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of high fever and sore throat which seems to be due to coinfection by bacteria and virus microorganism.
Need not to worry. I would advise suggest to take proper antibiotic course such as Levofloxacin for 3-5 days. You should drink plenty of fluids. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Avoid intake of outside food and cold carbonated beverages. Take paracetamol every 6 hrly if fever occurs again. Take anti-inflammatory drugs such as Sinarest as well. You should do warm saline gargles on daily basis 3- 4 times a day. Visit general physician once and get complete examination done. Go for blood tests along with throat swab test and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
