Suggest Treatment For High Fever With Vomiting For My 13-year-old Son

Hi. My son woke up vomiting. He has vomited twice today. He had a fever of 101 a few hours ago and I gave him motrin. I just checked on him and he says his stomach hurts near his belly button, and he feels hot again. He is also complaining that his arm feels tender. He will be 13 in a few weeks.

Hello,

The high fever with vomiting and abdomen pain indicate underlying intestine infection most likely bacterial. He requires definite measures to control it with:
- Prescription of anti emetic as ondancetron or domperidone to be taken with sips of water on empty stomach
- GI specific antibiotic as ofloxacin, metronidazole or else as per the choice of his pediatrician
- Combination therapy with mefenamic acid and paracetamol will take care of the fever as well as abdomen pain
- Strict dietary measures to prefer organic fresh fruits , avoidance of spices, non veg, junk foods, dairy fat etc.
