Suggest Treatment For Hip Flexor Strain And Sprained Ankle
I strained my hip flexor during track a while a go. It took a little over a month til I could start sprinting and not feel pain and discomfort. I later sprained my ankle terribly and it has been 3 months and it still isnt better completely but it did give my hip lots of time to heal. When I was able to start sprinting with a brace for my ankle i would stretch and warmup before running to prevent injury. I started stretchng a couple weeks before my first sprint. But anyways after warming up and stretching for awhile after a few sprints my hip started coming back and ended up causing me to stop because of discomfort. Why would my hip pain come back after months of healing time and proper preparation before a workout? Should i get it checked out?
The hip strain re appearing after a long period of times indicates need of an evaluation. There can be sore ligament tendon, tendinitis or other features involving hip joint structure which may be responsible for the re appearance of pain. In my clinic, I do recommend evaluation with all range of motion, sensory and motor parameter of lower limb to conclude a clinical diagnosis followed by need of an X-ray or MRI hip.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
