Suggest Treatment For Hoarse Voice Despite Taking Azithromycin

I am 47 and suddenly developed a horsey voice. Saw my dr. Script for arithramyacin . I have taken this for a week..no improvement. Had tonsils out at 5 and adenoids then and again at 14. Something just isn t right. I will need my doctor to refer me to a ENT. What do you think? Thanks, Andy

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concerns. As per your query you have hoarseness in voice despite taking antibiotics is due to inflammation of vocal cords leading to laryngitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper steam inhalation and do warm saline rinses two times a day. Avoid intake of cold beverages and sharp spicy food. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for blood and sputum test and start treatment accordingly. Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications. Take throat soothing agents. Use air humidifier in room.
