Suggest Treatment For Hormonal Acne

Hi I am a female, unmarried,Age :24, Height :5 feet 3 inches and weigh 55 kgs. I have been diagonosed with a condition called endometeriosis, for which the doctor asked me to take Birth control pills which i continued for 2 yrs, i then stopped it for fear of long term side effects, exactly 6 months later i am getting major acne on my fac (cheeks and chin) I have tried Benzoyl peroxide and of no avail I went to a local dermotologist who has prescribed 1. trentinoin cream 0.025 % 2. Azithrall 500 (once for 3days a week for 3 weeks) 3. Cetaphil cleansing lotion I have done a lot of reading on hormonal acne, trentinoin cream and i understand tht it will take time to settle. My questions are as below 1.Does hormonal acne ever get cured? ( I have always had relatively clear skin before the OC pills) 2.How long will it take for me to clear skin considering the medecines prescribed above? 3. Do you think i should go for something stronger? i dont want to take any more hormonal meds, but everwhere i read ,women just go back to Oral contraceptive to stop the acne and i cant do that! Thanks for your help

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it is true that hormonal imbalances play a major role in eruption of acne..
Most commonly along with oral and topical anti-acne medication you are also advised to take hormone replacement therapy for resolution of acne faster..
But in case if you do not want to get it done you will have to follow anti acne medications that you are already doing along with antibiotics..
You can also do cool compresses over the pimples, exfoliate your skin twice a week..
Take multivitamin supplements and take a nutritious diet..
Drink plenty of water..
Avoid oily food..
You can also keep the body hormones in pace with moderate workout and meditation.
You can also go for treatments like Microdermabrasion, dermal rollers, chemical peeling etc for resolution of acne..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
