Suggest Treatment For Hot Feeling On The Foot

I have an occasional hot feeling in my right foot. It's not painful and can happen with or without footwear. It always causes me to look down to see if something has spilt on it. It comes and goes at different times of day.
Curious as to what might be causing it ???
