Suggest Treatment For Hyperacusis

Hi work at a real estate office and wear a head piece almost all day, recently I have been very sensitive to noise and my ears feel as if there is water in them. I don t have headaches or such just discomfort and I am hard of hearing, maybe just light headed. Should I be worried?

Hello,

You may have some eustachian tube dysfunction, which has to do with the tubes that go from your nasal passages to your ears. I would suggest seeing a doctor to have your ears looked at for fluid.

Sometimes a decongestant nasal spray can also be tried to see if that helps open up those tubes and relieve the pressure and fluid.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
