Suggest Treatment For Hypertension And Elevated Cholesterol Levels

My name is Mr. H.L.Chiang. Previously my former doctor (private doctor) prescribed me to take Banbaxy Storvas 20, Olmesartan Medoxomil 20mg & Cardiprin100mg daily. My cholesterol was maintained at 5.2mmol/L, and the B/P was normal. For some reasons I went to the government hospital and hope that I could obtain the same medicine free of charge. The doctor of the hospital wanted me to stop taking any of the above medicine for one month (1) and then have a blood test. The result of the blood test was terrible as my cholesterol soared to 9.0 mmol/L (14/12/2010), and the B/P rosed to 152/101 (18/12/2010)! The doctor then prescribed me to take Ranbaxy Lestric Lovastatin 20mg, Apo-Hydro Hydrochlorothiazide 25mh & Uniaspirin 75mg daily. At this instance, I would be appreciated if you Doctors could advise me or make any comments on the previous & the present medicines, and which medicines are more effective & have less side effect.
