I was diagnosed with thyroid when i had a missed abortion in April 2009. The cause of was hypothyroid tsh-7.24, i was put on thhyronorm 125 mg, after 3 months my tsh was 0.01. My gynaec told me to stop taking thyronorm for 3 months, now my tsh is 7.25 again, all other fertility test are normal except my tsh, is there any medication which can cure my thyroid problem forever, i want to conceive asap, i m 24 yrs old, married for 3 years.......plz help?
Hello and thank you for asking! I can understand your concern. Your TSH level is high and should be corrected before trying to conceive because it may cause infertility and problems during pregnancy. The dose that was suggested to you was very high. That is why the TSH level has reached such levels. You need to treat the underactive thyroid of course but the starting dose should be 50 mcg.
