Suggest Treatment For Hyponatremia While Having Diabetes

sir, for the last three years now my brother has a complaint of decreasing sodium in his body. due to which he is not conscious in his behaviour. He speaks only old cases and gets violent with his family members. treatment is continuing but not much relief. At present he always sleeps, does not respond to any body.s question, just looks upon him. He is a chronic diabetic patient also, due to which he lost one eye sight and some disablement is there. Dr says blood circulation to brain is blocking and it may take time to get cured. Kindly give your advice

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Well, he should have his brain scanned (preferably MR). Then, his sodium should probably be corrected very slowly, if it has progressed to a high level slowly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
