Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism During Pregnancy
Hi, I am 8 weeks pregnant. I got detected with hypothyroid during the sixth week (57.24) and have been taking thyronorm 75 mcg every morning since then. I am worried about my baby. Would that have any implications on the bew born? I haven t missed on a single dosage since then.
Hi.This is Dr. Manreet, It is good that you havent missed a single dose because you have hypothyroidism (an under active thyroid) and during pregnancy, the thyroid gland needs to produce about 40 percent more thyroid hormone for both you and your developing baby and there are no implications for the new born. I would advise you to take thyronorm probably empty stomach in the morning and repeat your thyroid profile after 4 weeks.
