Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism, Extreme Tiredness, Weight Gain And Fatigue
I have hypothyroidism and have gone to my dr within the past two months and my medicine was upped from 175mcg to 200. I ve been on the 200 for a month now but I m still extremely tired, gaining weight, and fatigue during my workouts quickly. I haven t felt healthy for a long time now could it still be my thyroid or should I be seen to see if it s something else
Hi there, as you know, fatigue and weight gain can certainly go hand in hand with hypothyroidism. That said, your dosage was just recently increased by your doctor. I would recommend that you do return to your doctor for additional labwork and studies to see if you are on the right dose of thyroid medication for you, or if it needs to be increased. My opinion is that given your history of hypothyroidism, your symptoms could definitely be related to this condition and that would be what I would work on evaluating first, if I were your doctor. If all those tests come back as normal, I would then initiate a broader workup, so I do think you need to see your primary care doctor. I hope this is helpful to you!
