Hi, I am 30 years old, married for 1 year. My last LMP was 01/06/2015. I got irregular periods for the last two months. So i went for a checkup. Doctor told me to take up blood test, where i came to know i got hyperthyroid and hemoglobin of 7.7. She gave me Ovasafe and folic acid for 30 days and gave me thyrox. She did ultrasound every alternate days said i got PCOD and the egg is not matured. What is my position will i be able to get pregnant or any critical problem is there?
For anemia you might have been prescribed iron tablet with folic acid. But PCOS can lead problem in conception. Hence, for that if needed hormonal pill can be prescribed. If insulin resistance present (investigate with HOMA index for insulin resistance) then Metformin will be beneficial.
If ovulation not occurring then for ovulation induction Clomiphene or pulsatile Leuprolide can be prescribed. Dose of thyroxine adjusted to maintain TSH between 2 and 3. Consult trained infertility specialist gynecologist for examination and further work-up. If you can't conceive with all these medication then assisted reproductive techniques adopted.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
