Hi Doctor, Currently I am suffering with hypothyroidism. My TSH level was 85 before starting its treatment, doctor prescribed 25 mcg levothyroxin which i am regularly taking by 2 months. And during this condition I am unable to conceive after trying 6 months.

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Hypothyroidism is a cause which makes it difficult for getting pregnant. Mostly this problem is reversible with treatment of thyroid condition.
TSH of 86 is quite high and I feel that the dose of levothyroxine can be increased to double the dose. Once the thyroid study comes to normal or we can say that you are done treated for hypothyroidism then it won’t be difficult to conceive.
Kindly consult your doctor about increasing the dosage of thyroxine and also keep regular follow up for thyroid study. I am sure once this problem is solved you will be able to get pregnant.
I hope I answered your question satisfactorily. If you have any more query kindly write back to me, will be happy to help you out.
Thank you.
