Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

I have hypothyroid; however, I am taking medication currently. However, I still have much of the same symptoms and some are worse. For example, I have extreme fatigue of almost to the point where I do not want to move after a certain point. I have a heaviness in my upper arms that has never went away; when poked in the arms there is much tenderness and the pain is sharp. My question: Do you think the arm pain is connected to hypothyroid?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Muscle aches and pains are in fact related to hypothyroidism. What is vital here is to check your response to the medications you have been initiated on. Check your thyroid profile after being on the medication for at least 2 months and compare the results to your thyroid profile before initiation of the medications. If the response is good, then most or all of your symptoms shall soon subside, if it is not satisfactory enough then a higher dosage may be required.

Best wishes.
