Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

Hi have sufred from hypothyrodism since october 2007 and it usually stays in the norma range. However for the last 3 months it got a little above normal. My medication has been increaesed and i feel much etter. however, My partner and I have been trying to concieve for 6months and have been unsuccessful so i received an ultra sound last month to discover I had a very small endometrial cyst in my womb. Could this be the cause of my not falling pregnant? I am 28 and my periods come like clockwork apart from this last moth where it came 5days early, but was a normal flow. Howwver I did not experience any cramps which i usualy et in the first few days. I have also been taking folic acid for 4months. I am starting to get very disheartned. any advice would be really appreciated

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First to get pregnant the TSH should be at the levels 0.4-2.5 mUi/ml even though the normal range is up to 4 mUi/ml. So the dose should be adjusted until TSH has reached this level. If the cyst is too small, i do not think it is a cause for infertility, but your obs & gyn will explain you better having into consideration its dimensions, the location etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
