Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2005 and my endo doctor put me on meds but after retesting me after 6mo she stopped the med. Well I went in for an appointment with a GP doctor and she did a panel on me and all but the thyroid peroxidase test came back normal that test was 592. Her nurse called and said she is not going to medicate me but just check me again in a year. I am worried. Should I be?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
There is nothing to get worried about.
As long as the thyroid hormones are within the normal ranges, you do not need treatment.
All you have to do is to keep monitoring every 6 months the TSH level.
Once it raises, levothyroxine is recommended.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
