Suggest Treatment For Impaired Vision Due To Detached Retina

My Mother had a detached retina on July 2nd...had surgery on July 3rd with the gas bubble. The gas bubble has since left but the vision is not much better in the eye. She is having to use a magnifying glass to see anything at all and has to enlarge the screen on the computer to even make out what is printed using the magnifying glass for this too. What should she be doing to help if there is anything? Should she stay off the computer during the day to rest the eye....etc?
