I keep getting UTI s and I don t think I am emptying my bladder when I urinate. Tonight I can t even go to sleep because I keep having to go to the bathroom. Every time I go, a little urine comes out, but 5 minutes later I go again. What might be the cause?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Incomplete emptying of urine could be due to cystitis/UTI, prostate enlargement, neurological disease.
I would suggest to consult the urologist and undergo detailed examination, urine routine, microscopic tests, serum PSA level, USG scan to rule out the cause.
Treatment will depend on the specific cause
Following advises will help you
Scheduled toilet every 3-4 hours, Reduce fluid intake and take more solid fluid, Avoid alcohol and caffeine
Do Pelvic floor exercise.
Drugs like Oxybutynin and Tamsulosin
Hope this may help you.

Best regards
Dr. sagar
