Suggest Treatment For Infection In The Ear With Hearing Loss After Injury

When I was younger, I was pretending to have a Bluetooth with a grain of rice and it got stuck and I tried grabbing it with my fingers and it has been stuck ever since and now I just got an infection from it and it s sitting by my eardrum and I can t hear anything our of my left ear

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have infection in the ear with hearing loss after injury which could be due to Otosclerosis meniere's disease , autoimmune inner ear disease , very loud noise , acoustic neuroma , physical head injury. But in your case the symptoms are due to rupture of ear drum. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order CT scan , blood test , examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) , anti inflammatory medications. Doctor can recommend you surgery of ear drum like tympanoplasty . You should use hearing aid as that is the best treatment possible. Keep your ear dry until they get better , cover them while bathing . For now apply warm dry compresses , start taking ginkgo biloba supplement and drink green tea thrice a day .
