Suggest Treatment For Infection

My ENT cultured Proteus Mirabilis from my sinuses about 3 months ago. I took antibiotics. Was re-cultured six weeks ago. They cultured Stenotrophomonus Maltophilia. Took 6 weeks of doxycycline for that. Went back two days ago. They have now cultured e-coli. Holy cow! seems like the bugs are just waiting for the other bugs to get killed so that they can grow. What is going on? Took Microbiology in the spring and we were working with all of these bacteria. Did I somehow get infected then?

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear sinusitis most commonly caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Streptococcus pyogenes. Staphylococcus aureus and anaerobic bacteria (Prevotella and Porphyromonas, Fusobacterium and Peptostreptococcus spp.)

Pseudomonas also possible in few cases but ecoli not possible in sinus infection it is probably false positive results.

Don't worry continue water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling. use decongestant and antibiotics. Repeat the culture after 2weeks.

please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
