Suggest Treatment For Inflamed Bumps On The Knuckles

Hi, the past couple weeks I ve noticed small, inflamed bumps on my knuckles that looks like small burns and are tender to the touch. They last for a couple of days before fading but come back, usually appearing or worsening after sun exposure. What are these?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the inflamed bumps on knuckles appearing and worsening after sun exposure indicates possible sun sensitivity with or without psoriasis counterpart.

* One has to be evaluated for Auszpitz sign and other clinical findings, but at present I can suggest that

- antiseptic wash
- the wearing of clean, loose, cotton clothes
- local application of hydrocortisone cream
- avoid prolong sun exposure

* Kindly book an appointment with your treating dermatologist for best further guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
