Suggest Treatment For Inflammated Sebaceous Cyst On The Back
Sebaceous cyst on my back was inflamed and after taking antibiotics for 2 weeks has been drastically reduced. I was instructed by my family physician to sqeeze it in order to remove puss while taking antibiotics. I will need to wait for 2 months in order for cyst to be removed in the hospital. I also noticed an additional small hole (above the main wound opening that was healed well) when gently pressed, some blood is coming from it. Is it new infection ? Or new cyst? Can I swim, use sauna or epson bath now? Any risk under this condition? How to prevent the cyst from getting worst while I wait for the procedure?
I am not convince with your doctor's advice to squeeze and manipulate sebaceous cyst. In my opinion you should not squeeze it or rupture it, you can wipe out any discharge or secretion but without pressing hard on it.
If it's infected so badly than surgical exploration can be carried out in oreder to drain all the pus and abscess.
You may require a broad spectrum antibiotics like Amoxiclav or ampicillin with gentamicin/amikacin under medical supervision.
In my opinion you should keep it clean and dry for speedy healing Multivitamin and calcium supplements with anti inflammatory drug like ibuprofen is also advisable.
Hope this answers your question, please feel free to ask for follow up question, I will be happy to help you. Best wishes
