Suggest Treatment For Inflammation, Discharge And Clogging In Ear

Hi doctor.i cleaned my left ear a week ago then my ear became clogged. went to see ENT prescribed oflox eyedrops but my ear became more clogged with discharges.i wènt back to ENT ordered gentamycin ear drops with ciprofloxacin 500mg BID..my ENT specialist told me that there is a pinpoint perforation with inflammation of my left ear.but now i hear a clicking sound whenever i swallow.i did valsalva manuever but to no avail.pls give me help.

Hi,

It seems you have traumatized your ear drum while cleaning it at home. Valsalva manuever done with ear drum perforation can increase the damage. I feel this is the cause for non healing and increase in symptoms. Please follow your ENT doctor's advice meticulously. Antibiotics would treat infection and ear drum perforation sometimes gets healed with medicines. Otherwise, it needs surgery. Please don't attempt ear cleaning on your own and go for Valsalva under able guidance.
