Suggest Treatment For Ingrown Toe Nail

I will split up my questions, if I get certain answers then I will go on. I have an ingrown toenail for an unknown duration, a small part of the skin has turned light brown, no pain pressing on brown spot or smell from feet. I still have feeling in it as well. When I put it in warm water color goes back to normal for a short time. Do I have gangrene?

The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description of the lesions is that you have developed onychomycosis over the ingrowing toe nail.Ingrowing toe nail predisposes to develop fungal infection. You must apply topical antifungal cream like clotrimazole over the affected area. Oral antifungal tablets like Terbinafine in pulse therapy might also helps.Once the fungal infection is cured the ingrown nail may be removed surgically. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
