Suggest Treatment For Injured And Swollen Eyes

Got hit in the eye with a thrown basketball. Lower eyelid is swollen like a black eye but when I blink I see something similar to what you see if you looked at bright light like the sun and then closed your eyes like a spot. Vision is otherwise fine. No pain in the eye or headache. Should I be concerned?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having black eye and sensitivity to light following a injury.
Black eye is because of collection of blood in the layers of skin and it will resolve slowly over 3-4 weeks. No treatment is required for black eye applying cold compression will help in resolution.
However sensitivity to light and seeing halos require examination by a ophthalmologist to look for causes like corneal abrasion and treatment accordingly.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
