Suggest Treatment For Injury On Hip

This morning I slipped in the kitchen and fell hard on my right hip, actually landed on my dog s metal food bowl. There is a large dark bruise about five inches long and almost three inches wide crossing my thight onto my hip and the pain is deep and throbbing, I ve tried two hot baths and applied ice several times plus took advil but the pain is still intense when I walk or sit, is this an injury I should be seen by a Dr for?

A slip and fall like this is concerning for fracture, especially with your report of deep throbbing pain and bruising. If the pain has not improved by tomorrow I would suggest you visit and Emergency Room or Urgent Clinic to have an xray of your hip performed and evaluate for a possible fracture. The specialists there will also be able to get you set up with a specialist if needed for follow up.
