Suggest Treatment For Inner Ear Infection While On Amoxicillin

I have an inner ear infection, and have been on amoxicillin for 7 days, the pain has not gotten any better. When I lift my arm to comb my hair or take something off the shelf the pain in my ear is almost unbearable. I have to fly for business on Saturday. Should I go back to the doctor and get stronger antibiotic?

Hi,

Though you have taken antibiotics for the infection but there is no relief so you need further investigations. I tell you need clinical examination first to find the cause of pain and you may need investigations. To continue the antibiotics is not a good idea now. So I suggest you report to emergency room for further evaluation so that you problem can be managed properly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
