Suggest Treatment For Insomnia, Fatigue And Nausea

I had a concussion almost 8 months ago, was diagnosed with PCS post concussion syndrome. I had negative CT and MRI. I had 3 set backs, the last set back a month ago, every time I feel the same symptoms as I just had concussion all over again, I have not been back to work for over a month. I feel like my brain cannot take any stress. A month ago I had one stressful day at work, (working with emotionally abusive person) that caused me set back. I could not stop crying at work, could not focus/remember/process information, confusion, sensitivity to lights/noises, poor balance/coordination (dropping things clumsy, walking into walls). They let me go home, at home I could not stop crying for 3 hours, had terrible headache, brain hurt, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, brain fog, terrible insomnia, fatigue... My LNI doctor told me its not good to take meds after concussion, as brain needs to heal without meds, and I don t like to take meds anyways. But I was prescribed nausea med. Zoran is causing stomach cramp and severe constipation, I forget about side effects, later regret taking it. Ibuprofen does not seem to help. Benadryl/Melatonin don t help my insomnia. I feel like I am not any better then the patients I was taking care on psychiatric unit. I was on LNI, and released from LNI 3 months ago, but could barely work my 3 days per week. Compare to before I worked 60 hrs per week average. I don t have sick days, and not paid for any missed days, even though it was injury at work. I don t have a doctor, LNI doctor cannot see me until LNI claim is reopened. Every time I feel stressed I get headache, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting. I am 40 years old female, I was a very healthy person before concussion. Now my brain cannot take little stress, I cannot control my emotions, cry easily when stressed. I am thinking to go to urgent care to get medication for sleep, nausea, pain, to get referral to a medical provider. What should I do doctor? I appreciate your time and any advise you have for me. Thank you Doctor!

Hi,

Well, insomnia may be difficult to treat, but there are some methods which can be used. Treatment options include behavior and lifestyle changes, medicines, and complementary medicines. You need to change your dietary habits and these include changing your sleep area or schedule, watching what and when you eat and drink, and being more active. It's also important to keep regular bedtimes and wake times-7 days a week-and to try to avoid taking naps during the day. Prescription sleep medicines may also help and include diazepam and similar medications. Melatonin is supplement which may be of help as well. In severe cases special testing is needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
