Suggest Treatment For Insomnia With Restlessness In The Legs
Q I have a bad case of insomnia. It s been quite a few weeks, or even months. Last night I literally didn t sleep 1minute. This happened last week, too. Usually, I fall asleep around 3:00, and often have to get up for meetings, etc. I also have restless legs, for which I take --clonazapam--which works sometimes, and fibromalgia. I am getting discouraged. I feel awful all of the time.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need an appointment with a sleep specialist who can walk you through the paces and figure out the evolution of your insomnia...It didn't just start yesterday for sure....but the problem will be to figure out what began precipitating sleeplessness in you. There could be physical explanations or even medications that you may be taking that could cause symptoms of insomnia. Psychological issues are one of the most common causes for a person to suffer insomnia. If you truly have RLS. Then, klonazepam is not the preferred drug and will cause you problems down the road. You need someone to organize your issues and approach things in an orderly and logical sequence.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
