Suggest Treatment For Insomnia

I ve had terrible insomnia for a week, after being released from hospital where I was given visteril and Librium for anxiety . Also my vision is blurry , milky , can this vision problem be related to the insomnia or my recent Librium use in hospital ? The eye problem has got me very worried.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

You have symptoms of insomnia since last one week and are recently prescribed Chlordiazepoxide and Hydroxyzine. You have now symptoms of blurred vision and such symptoms can occur due to medicines.

Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine drug and the drug is known to cause dependence if taken regularly for more than 4 weeks unless indicated. The drug is a good sleep medicines and you can take it for your problem of insomnia for short duration of times.

Hydroxyzine is an antihistaminic drug and the drug can help in sleep because it is known to cause sedation. But it can cause blurred vision as side effect. So most probably the blurred vision you are having are occurring due to side effect of the drug only. If these symptoms are really severe consult your doctor again for reevaluation.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
