Suggest Treatment For Intense Groin Itching
Hello. I have an intense groin itch. i originally saw a dermatologist who said it wasnt fungal and had me use sarna lotion which eased the itching. That lasted about two weeks and now it is back with a vengeance spreading to the anal area and the navel. I was wondering if you have a suggestion for treatment.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of intense groin itching. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like viral infection by varicella zoster, sexually transmitted diseases, lice and scabies, psoriasis or dermatitis. It could be due to heat produced by friction of clothes and due to allergic reaction of body as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep the area clean and dry , take over the counter antihistamine like zyrtec. You should wear loose cloths and apply over the counter antibiotics ointment and apply cold compresses . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe oral antifungal like fluconazole or anti bacterial depending upon the diagnosis along with corticosteroid ointment .
