Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi, i have not been feeling well at all lately, and not quite sure what symptom to discuss first with my doctor. i am almost 50 yrs old and have intense pain in my back. i have scoliosis, and had a disc fracture from a fall down the stairs in 2009. i have been having headaches, and had a trigeminal schwannamoa removed 22 yrs ago. i have also had part of my pancreas removed and have been very depressed, so question is do i focus on the pain which may be causing the depression or vise versa..... i am on some mild pain relievers that dont seem to help much and don t know what i should be asking for
I would advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon and get an MRI of spine done to rule out any aggravation of your existing condition. There is no reason for you to worry much. You can take simple analgesics like paracetamol for the condition, if it helps. Else, you can go up the ladder of pain management under guidance of your treating doctor.
I would also suggest you to visit a psychologist and get counselled if you are feeling depressed. You can keep this as second priority unless your depression is really bothering you much however a simultaneous approach would be better.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
