I jumped from a tree branch in to a river today, about 15ft. Since then my ear has been in intense pain for about three hours, the pain is subsiding a little bit after taking some paracetamol. I can still hear out of the ear but it just hurts, do you think it is perforated? If so, what other home remedies can I try. And shall I go to see a doctor if the pain hasn t settled by tomorrow or is it not that serious? My age is 22, height 167cm, weight 51kg, no medical issues
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intense pain in ear which could be due to ear infection, accumulation of ear wax, foreign body penetration in ear and it could be due to sinusitis. Chances of perforation are less. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should avoid touching or pricj=king it with any sharp object. You should put Otogesic ear drops 3-4 times a day. You should take proper rest. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and start treatment after proper prescription. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope. Try to avoid excessive use of mobile as it will exaggerate your situation.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
