Suggest Treatment For Inter Menstrual Bleeding
Dear Doctor,
I am a 47 year-old woman. In the past four years or so, I have been experiencing a period-like , small amount, bleeding for 2-3-4 days about one week after my regular period. I have seen four or five doctors and specialists, and run different tests. All normal. I am generally very healthy. Except the bleeding, I am experiencing burbing at night when I turn around in the bed or in the morning when I get up. Please let me know if I need to be more concerned and what I need to do. There are many medical conditions that can cause inter-menstrual bleeding. Some of the common causes can be hormonal imbalance, a growth in your uterus, or vaginal dryness. I suggest to do a hormone level and a pelvic ultrasound for further evaluation. You may need to have cultures taken or tissue removed from your cervix or the lining of your uterus for testing. The treatment depends on the cause. I suggest to follow up with a gynecologist for further evaluation.
