Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Constipation And Distended Abdomen
I have been experiencing constipation on/off for about 2 weeks. I am moving my bowels but not enough. I have a distended abdomen, lots of gas and stool is thinner and smaller than normal. I ve tried stool softeners, laxatives, and most recently I m trying to follow a very clean diet. I am healthy overall, exercise, and eat well. I have a good weight. I am getting worried that it may be something serious. I was supposed to have a colonoscopy (due to my age) but haven t had one.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of intermittent constipation and distended abdomen which can occur due to many systemic conditions and it is extremely important to find out the exact cause. Need not to worry. Drink one spoon of honey in warm water daily. You should add laxatives in diet. Drink plenty of fluids. I would advise you to consult gastroenterologist once and get examination done like complete blood count, stool examination, ultrasound scan of abdomen, and colonoscopy examination. You should start treatment after complete examination. Doctor may prescribe you traditional drugs like lactulose, milk of magnesia and cremaffin or bisacodyl tablets. You should avoid intake of sharp, spicy and hot food substances.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
