Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Fever, Cough And Fatigue

I have I have been ill for two weeks. The worst symptom has been an intermittent fever every day up to 103. Also have a cough, general pain and fatigue. Along with a rash on my upper chest, though I think that was caused by a med. I have been on three different antibiotics. First suspicion was a sinus infection. But meds did not help at all. Was tested for all common tick diseases and all were negative. Symptoms persist. Help!

Hi,

You may need additional investigations to help tailor your treatment eg a chest x-ray and sputum sample to the lab (to help identify the exact pathogen causing the infection).

If the bacteria causing the infection can be identified and also tested to determine which antibiotics would work best for it, then you can be given meds that may help fight this infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
