Suggest Treatment For Irregular And Heavy Menstrual Periods

Im 37 and for the past year, or maybe a little less, my periods have become very unusual. Sometimes I go up to 6 weeks without a period... sometimes the blood looks dark brown like its old and its thick... sometimes i will bleed hardly at all and then like I just experienced this time... i bled so much i was changing super tampons appx every 2 hours... about 24 hours into my cycle i soaked the tampon in less than an hour.... when i removed it huge clots came out (appx the size of the palm of my hand}... then it tapered back to a slight bleed. My periods usually only last 3 day... this time in particular my experience really frightened me... although its the second or third time its happened in this manner... I has never been so much.
