Hello, I'm having problems with irregular heart beats, for the last 24 hours I have been feeling light headed and drained. My heart has been beating fast with several skips per minute these skips are foloowed by a single hard long heart beat then it goes back to normal and then repeats, it has been doing this for the last 2 days I'm not sure what to make of it. Thankyou for your help

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Immediately consult a cardiologist and get evaluated. Abnormal heart beat may lead to complications if left untreated. You have to take a serial ECG monitoring to look for any abnormal rhythm. If the rhythm found to be abnormal. You have to start on drugs to control the rate and rhythm.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
